What does the online COSHH course cover?
This online COSHH training will prepare your staff for the many elements related to handling and using hazardous substances. It will give insight and solutions to prevent and reduce exposure to materials and substances that are capable of causing serious injury.
Examples of hazardous substances that are covered in the COSHH training are chemicals, products containing chemicals, dust, fumes, mists, vapours, gases and biological germs. These products classify as “very toxic, toxic, harmful, corrosive or irritant” under the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation (CLP). Product packaging that displays the hazardous symbol is an indicator of a hazardous substances.
The CLP was enforced in 2009 and sits alongside REACH regulations which concern the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. REACH’s key purpose is to ensure the highest level of human health protection and lessen the impact of chemicals on the environment.
