This is a 1-day emergency first aid at work course; it teaches delegates how to deal with multiple emergency first aid situations and scenarios. Covered within this are minor injuries, wounds, bleeding, choking, shock, managing an unresponsive casualty, and, of course, CPR.
As an employer, it is your responsibility to ensure your staff receive emergency first aid training to the relevant standard to deal with a variety of health issues that could occur in the workplace.
In order to determine if this course is enough or whether you would require the 3-day First Aid at Work course you should carry out an employer’s First Aid Needs Assessment.

What you’ll learn on this EFAW course
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider.
- Be able to assess an emergency situation
- Be able to provide First Aid to an unresponsive casualty
- Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty who is choking
- Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty with external bleeding
- Understand how to provide First Aid to a casualty in shock
- Understand how to provide First Aid to a casualty with minor injuries
This EFAW course is aimed at beginners as well as people who have taken the course before.
As there are few or no practical elements to this 1-day first aid training, you are not required to bring any PPE, but please wear comfortable clothes for performing CPR.
