This safety harness training course provides delegates with the theoretical and practical knowledge required to use fall, arrest and restraint equipment effectively and to carry out pre-use harness and lanyard inspections as required by current regulations.
The course explains the difference between different types of harnesses and lanyards and their appropriate use. The roles and responsibilities of the user and management staff in ensuring the correct equipment is supplied and used in the correct manner.
This course teaches pre-use inspection only, it does not teach you how to carry out the 6-month or annual thorough inspection. In order to do this, you would need an additional Harness Inspection course.
The course is a mixture of theory and practical training. There is a theory assessment at the end of the course to test the delegates knowledge. The practical assessment is reviewing faults in damaged harnesses and identifying the problems.
