This course is for delegates who are using harnesses. All delegates need to have completed and passed the Harness Awareness course before completing this course.
Candidates will be asked to perform a pre-use check of a Harness and Lanyard, don and adjust the harness and attach it to the correct anchor point of a MEWP, adjusting to achieve effective restraint.
If delegates have completed the Harness Awareness course online they are then able to do the Harness User course as part of the IPAF Operator course.

What you’ll learn
- How to conduct a pre-use check of a harness and lanyard
- How to correctly fit and adjust a harness and lanyard for use in a MEWP
- How to attach the lanyard to a MEWP and adjust the lanyard to be effective
Please ensure you have standard PPE: Hardhat, hi-vis vest or jacket and a harness and restraint lanyard.
All delegates will need to have completed and passed the IPAF Harness Awareness (HA) course ahead of completing the Harness User (HU) course. This can be done online or combined on the same day with the awareness course taking place ahead of the User course.
